Instagram has practices that silence melanated voices through the use of abusive algorithms and disinterest in dealing with their issues of race. Over and over again they have silenced voices in an attempt to control the narrative. We demand that IG immediately diversify their leadership with melanated voices. We additionally demand that they begin hearing from voices outside of their echo chamber. We are demanding that they begin to engage and elevate voices that differ from their own rather than silencing them.
