I am starting this petition to get Links Gardens opened up again . This road needs to be open now to eliminate some of the heavy traffic that we are now suffering in the Leith, Restalrig, Lochend and Pirniefield area. The traffic congestion due to this road closure is horrendous, that’s not even mentioning the extra pollution. 

This road was closed by The Edinburgh Council on 22nd May on a temporary road closure restriction. That restriction can be reviewed and lifted at any time. The explanation on the Restriction order says “supporting social distancing” which was fine under lockdown. 3 months ago. 

The City/Leith has now opened up, albeit not fully , but enough to start opening up the roads again. People in cars have to move around.
The traffic along the front of the Links is absolutely atrocious. With Links Gardens closed and the new traffic light system in place ( another petition for another day) something now needs to be done. Please if you agree with me sign, share & forward this petition. The more signatures we get the better we have of getting it back open. 

In an ideal world keeping this road closed for green space would be great. It would also be great if everyone could walk, or cycle to work. But unfortunately we do not live in an ideal world ..people need to drive .hence its time now for the closure to be lifted.  I need your help to get it done. Feel free to sign , share and forward .
