Press US Congress to declare March 18 a federal holiday in honor of COVID-19 victims!

The Issue

On March 18, 2020, former President Donald Trump declared a pandemic and state of emergency due to the international outbreak of COVID-19 (or Coronavirus). As of today, over 400,000 Americans have died from this disease, millions have been sick, hospitals have been swamped, the market plummeted, and unemployment skyrocketed. In fact, the death toll is almost 75 times that of the first American tragedy of the 21st Century: 9/11. Even those who were not infected and did not lose relatives and/or employment will remember the years 2020 and 2021 with shudders and tears. We must make March 18th a holiday so that our descendants will learn with admiration not only how the pandemic brought the world's most powerful nation to its knees but also how it stood up again. Lest we forget.
