I love the Tour de France, in fact I've been watching it avidly since 1986 - therefore this (2016) is my 31st tour. The soundtrack throughout that 75% of my life (in July) has been the words, wisdom and wonder of Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen and I know it has been for many others too.  I was forlorn when tuning in to today's highlights to find their absolute absence. Nobody doubts Chris Boardman's insights, nor Ned Boulting's composure, and David Millar is rapidly improving as a commentator but they are not the classics, they are not able to ooze the emotion of the sport and they are not synonymous with the history of cycle sport in the English-speaking world. Surely the budget stretches to buying their commentary for at least some of the live coverage or all of the highlights? Please stop us from defecting to web-based or satellite providers and give us the the 100% delights of the tour. My sister has still not forgiven you for changing the theme tune...!
