Get major game developers and publishers to bring their games back to Nintendo's consoles.
The Issue
For the last several years, we have seen many games that have come to the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC that have seen Wii U ports, though much later than should have been, and occasionally poorly executed or missing DLC that should have come with the game. However, with the advent of the PS4 and XBox One, two systems which boast superior graphics capability, we see games that could be easily placed upon the Wii U and run just fine on the system, and are often less graphically intense than games released on the prior generation. Activision has been one of the worst offenders in this whole situation, picking and choosing to send games that are only certain to succeed, even though they have more expensive peripherals or are absolutely oriented for children first and foremost, one of which is actually made in the Unity Engine. The straw that finally broke the proverbial camel's back is Activision's new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan This game looks as if it were geared right for the Wii U on the get-go, developed by Platinum Games, a company who has a sterling reputation for great games on the Wii U. For too long have the AAA Publishers been dodging the Wii U, and people are actively defending their choices by saying things like "Oh, it'll never work on the system," or "It would cost too much to port," or "The system's not popular enough." All 3 of these arguments are complete garbage, and when you call someone out on any of them, they change their tune to another argument. In an era where game publishers and developers can port a PS4 and XBox One game backwards to the PS3 and XBox 360, claiming because they're popular, I call complete BS. The Playstation 3 possesses a 3.2 GHz Cell Broadband Engine with 1 Power Processing Element and 7 Synergistic Processing Elements with 256 MegaBytes of XDR DRAM and another 256 MegaBytes of GDDR3 video RAM, the Xbox 360 possesses a 3.2 Ghz Power PC TriCore Xenon Processor with 512 Megabytes of GDDR3 RAM, and the Wii U is packing 1.24 GHz Tri-Core IBM PowerPC "Espresso" CPU and 2 Gigabytes of DDR3 RAM, with each system running 550 MHz NVIDIA/SCEI RSX 'Reality Synthesizer' card, a 500 MHz ATI Xenos and a 550 MHz AMD Radeon "Latte" graphics card respectively. While the Wii U has a less powerful processor, it makes up for the slower CPU with a greater amount of RAM to support the system and distribute the processing load. Each has an equally powerful video card and is entirely capable of rendering graphics well. Two of the systems actually had POWERPC CPU types, used often in older Macintosh computer systems until they moved to Intel CPU's. There's no reason for the lack of support. It's not about profits, it's not about popularity, it's about bias against Nintendo, and unduly so. When Nintendo's GameCube was still in production, we saw every single 3rd party publisher bring games to that console, even despite the system's relative lack of popularity. As Nintendo fans, we call upon Activision, Electronics Arts and Ubisoft, and to a lesser degree of CAPCOM and Square-Enix, to drop their anti-Nintendo bias, suck it up and start porting games to the Wii U properly. No matter how much you 'claim' to see it as a lack of profit, it's still going to bring in revenue, and it's not like you're going to fail to make a profit on the game if you do.
