The issue

The residents of Cadence, Ripley want to highlight the fears and frustration of the amount of traffic passing through Rhythm Road.  Every day brings additional reports of near misses – cars sideswiped, children almost hit on bicycles because of swerving cars, and near collisions while exiting driveways due to speeding cars and trucks. The road has become a racing straight and the situation has become so dire that many community members have taken the extreme step of selling their properties or breaking their leases just to escape the constant traffic nightmare.

Rhythm Road unexpectedly became a thoroughfare for non-residents of Cadence and Aurora residents. The lack of action to rectify this from Ipswich City Council has led to this appeal for urgent intervention. We, the residents of Cadence Ripley, want to put forth our cry for a necessary resolution to ensure our safety and our peace of mind.

We request the Ipswich City Council to prioritise the implementation of necessary measures to improve road safety and ease traffic flow by commencing the road to join up on Binnies Road. Our lives, safety, and the future of our neighbourhood depends on how swiftly the council responds to our plight. Hence, we want Ipswich City Council to view this issue not just as a traffic problem, but a matter of public safety.

Stand with us, sign this petition to tell Ipswich City Council that urgent action is needed to improve safety and traffic conditions on Rhythm Road by opening Binnies Road. We must pressure the authorities to ensure that they give this matter the priority it deserves. Sign the petition for a safer Rhythm Road, Tempo Drive, Daleys road and the adjoining streets.
