Whereas the invasive species Amynthas spp. has transformed woodlands throughout the US, rapidly consuming forest substrate while leaving forest ecosystems severely compromised and changed in appearance and given that Amythas spp. (Snake worms, Jumping worms) appear on species ID apps such as iNaturalist not only in Ontario but moving closer to Algonquin Park and the edge of northern boreal forests, we demand that the Ontario government immediately add Amynthas spp. to Ontario's Prohibited Invasive Species list. Furthermore we request that the Ontario government in cooperation with informed anglers and provincial park outfitters act swiftly in protection of Ontario’s northern forests and our multimillion dollar park tourism industry to implement both signage and boot brush stations at all Algonquin Park gates and other provincial park gates allowing tourists to implement boot brushing before entering provincial parks, to effectively stop the spread of tread-borne cocoons into Ontario park regions and northern boreal forest areas. As tread-borne cocoons and the use of jumping worms by uninformed anglers are the main entry points to Ontario's boreal forests, these very simple measures could massively protect Ontario’s boreal. 
Jumping worms are already on the prohibited invasive species list in American states such as New York, Minnesota and Wisconsin and they do not have the expansive boreal forests of Ontario. We demand the Ontario government place invasive species Amythas spp. (Snake worms, Jumping worms) on Ontario’s prohibited invasive species list immediately.
