Declan's Law Implemented!

Albeit a bit late, I am so proud to announce the legislative changes that have occured in the Northern Territory Parliament.

Declan's Law - a presumption AGAINST bail for any serious violence offence

Declan's Law was implemented 6th January 2025, and showed an increase in bail refusals. In that 12 month period, 1.056 extra people were denied bail.

This is an 8.6% decrease in the number of victims in the Northern Territory.

We cannot quantify how many crimes were prevented by people not being granted bail.

There is more work to be done, but your help has made a massive impact towards community safety.
