Completely outrageous! Parents with kids at Avon or anyone who cares about the arts and music being learned in schools we need to act NOW!

The music program Mr. Mac has built at Avon is a treasure for these kids and for them to be taking away the music room is just pure sabotage of this program and it’s potential for future success. What is the purpose of this??

 

Please see below and join me in writing in with your concerns! Apparently there is a board meeting on Tuesday evening that parents can attend to speak out on this!

He was informed on Wednesday that the Board is removing the music room at Avon. He’s obviously devastated - he still has a teaching position but will have a cart only for equipment. He has built such a wonderful program and that space was custom-made at the time. What a huge loss for that school. They are moving quickly on the project probably so that parents don’t have time to coordinate anything. 

 

We are sending a letter to the Board - to Lisa Walsh. Also, Herb Klassen is the School Board Trustee for this ward. You might consider sending something in writing as well - and probably in June is a good idea! We told Mr. Mac we’d try to reach out to people. 

 

So sad for the school if it does go ahead.
