I need your help to sign this petition in order to protect our local birds; Crows, Pigeons and Mynahs.

Previously rangers came to cull the birds and then they changed to poisoning the birds. We were able to see the birds dropped from mid-air. And recently, NParks set up a ladder trap to trap the birds while still alive. The birds were cramped together. No shelter from the sun nor rain. I believed this is very inhumane. These birds nonetheless are still living things. They breathe the same air as us. They have families to go home to. I had been writing and contacting the authorities and plead with them to remove the trap for a few days which unfortunately, they chose to wait. Perhaps, wanting to trap and kill more of these birds. This has caused unnecessary stress and anxious to myself because I believed that they have the right to live just like us.

NParks wrote this on their website: It may be the fledging season (May - June) in which their young learn to fly. The parents are very protective during this period and would attack if you are close to the young (limited to a small area). 
The thing is, in Singapore, we do not have small areas and a scale of 10, maybe only 1 will likely to attack. Most of the time, the crows will caw loudly, but it will only last a few minutes. 

ACRES mentioned this to me when I contacted them: We urge members of the public to voice out their concerns to NParks and town council on the trapping of birds for population control. ACRES believes that the removal of birds does not address the underlying issues that need to be looked into which is the feeding by members of the public and improper waste disposal.

Shouldn’t the authorities educate the public instead of culling the birds inhumanely? With this, with a heavy heart, I urged my dear friends and family, to sign this petition in order to stop killing/ culling and trapping these birds. Let’s find alternatives to live in harmony.
