PETITION:

We, the undersigned residents of Deepwater Point Rd., Peaceful Valley Rd., and the connecting* neighborhood roads in Acme Township, call on the Grand Traverse Road Commission to allocate the necessary resources to undertake a full-scale, comprehensive, long-term repair project for each of these public roads. 

The Grand Traverse Road Commission's current approach of simply patching isolated sections of the roads has proven to be insufficient and entirely inadequate. The temporary patches are merely quick fixes that rapidly deteriorate, leaving us with deeply rutted roads whose rough, uneven surfaces lead to hazardous driving, cycling, and walking conditions. 

We have to use these roads each day to travel to and from our homes - we have no other choice. Their unsafe condition is not just an inconvenience, as potholes cause damage to vehicles, but the uneven surfaces are a significant safety issue that puts drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians at risk. As taxpayers, we expect and deserve roads that are safe, smooth, and reliable. We urge the Grand Traverse Road Commission's immediate action to repair and restore our roads for the safety and well-being of our neighbors and community, as well as for the protection of our property values.
