Hey Awesome Supporters!
Thanks for all of your continued support and sharing Maddox's story. He is still being punished for his hair, but instead of ISS, he has lunch detention! Lunch detention is putting him at the very front of the cafeteria at a table facing a wall. He isn't allowed to sit with his peers or talk to anyone! All because his hair isn't "laying down enough'! (The schools exact words)! How freakin pathetic are these people?!?!?
Today HB 392 - The Crown Act was presented to the House Committee! I have posted the link to the video! The 34.50 mark is the start of their presentation.
Hope said it was very emotional being there. I'm sure it was! I wish my husband and I could've been there to speak. A couple of older white people (who most are deemed conservative in Texas who fit their idea of moral, majority) standing up and supporting our grandson and hair rights...
So basically the next thing is that the committee decides whether to forward it (or not) to the Senate for a vote and if it passes (AND IT WILL), then make it a law. There is a lot more things involved, 2nd and 3rd reads, etc. For more info about how a bill is passed:
