Deiseb i achub tir Tŷ’r Ysgol, Llanrug
Rydym yn galw ar Cyngor Gwynedd i roi holl dir Tŷ’r Ysgol i Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug ac at ddefnydd trigolion y pentref. Dyma’r unig gyfle sydd gennym am byth i ddatblygu ac ymestyn yr ysgol er lles plant Llanrug.

Cefndir
Fe wnaeth Cyngor Gwynedd brynu tir Tŷ’r Ysgol yn 2017 yn y gobaith o ddatblygu Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug, roedd hyn yn dilyn ymgyrch galed gan y diweddar Gynghorydd Charles Wyn Jones.
Gyda’i lleoliad yng nghanol a chalon y pentref, Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug yw’r chweched ysgol gynradd fwyaf yng Ngwynedd – yn groes i’r patrwm drwy’r wlad, mae niferoedd yn dal i dyfu. Mae’n wynebu problemau capasiti ynghyd â phroblemau parcio difrifol, peryglus a pharhaus. Mae’r ysgol a’i chymdogion yn Stad Glanffynnon hefyd yn profi problemau llifogydd a draeniad cyson.
Pan brynodd Cyngor Gwynedd y tir roedd caniatâd cynllunio amlinellol ar ran ohono i godi dau dŷ. Yn Chwefror 2021 fe wnaeth Cyngor Gwynedd drosglwyddo dau blot tir mawr a Thŷ’r Ysgol ei hun i’r Adran Eiddo o’r Adran Addysg er mwyn ad-dalu £150,000 o fenthyciad. Digwyddodd hyn heb ofyn i’r ysgol am angen a thra roedd gan y pentref ddim cynghorydd i’n cynrychioli.
Dim ond cornel o’r tir y mae’r ysgol am ei dderbyn erbyn hyn.
Rydym yn galw ar Cyngor Gwynedd i fuddsoddi yn Llanrug – y pentref gyda nifer uchaf o siaradwyr Cymraeg yn yr holl fyd. Yn lle gwneud elw, buddsoddwch yn addysg a llesiant ein trigolion a datblygu tir Tŷ’r Ysgol i bentref Llanrug.
Dyma enghraifft o sut y gallai tir Tŷ’r Ysgol gael ei ddefnyddio er lles Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug a’r pentref:
- Ysgol goedwig ar y tir i gynnig yr addysg awyr agored sy’n cael ei hyrwyddo o fewn y Cwricwlwm i Gymru; gallai hyn gynnwys rhandir a thwnnel tyfu bychan. Byddai’r gymuned yn gallu defnyddio’r gofod hwn hefyd fel hafan werdd er lles pawb.
- Tŷ’r Ysgol yn cael ei adfer at ddefnydd addysg ac fel hwb cymunedol.
- Datblygu bae parcio er mwyn lleihau’r parcio peryglus o amgylch yr ysgol.
- Datrys problemau draeniad y rhan yma o’r pentref.
Petition to save Tŷ’r Ysgol, Llanrug
We are calling on Cyngor Gwynedd to give Tŷ’r Ysgol and all its land to Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug and for the use of the residents of the village. This is the last opportunity we have forever to develop and extend the school for the benefit of the children of Llanrug.
Background
Cyngor Gwynedd purchased Tŷ’r Ysgol in 2017 in the hope of developing Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug, this was following a long campaign by the late Councillor Charles Wyn Jones.
With its location in the centre and heart of the village, Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug is the sixth largest primary school in Gwynedd – contrary to the pattern throughout the country, pupil numbers are still growing. The school faces capacity problems along with serious, dangerous and ongoing parking problems. The school and its neighbours in Stad Glanffynnon also experience flooding and drainage problems.
When Cyngor Gwynedd bought the land there was outline planning permission for part of it to build two houses. In February 2021 Cyngor Gwynedd transferred two large land plots and Tŷ’r Ysgol, the house itself, to its Property Department from the Education Department in order to repay a £150,000 loan. This happened without consulting the school about need and while the village had no councillor to represent us.
Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug will now only receive a corner of the land.
We are calling on Cyngor Gwynedd to invest in Llanrug – the village with the highest number of Welsh speakers in the whole world. Instead of making a profit, invest in the education and well-being of our residents and develop Tŷ’r Ysgol’s land for the village of Llanrug.
Here is an example of how the Tŷ’r Ysgol’s land could be used for the benefit of Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug and the village:
- A forest school on the land to offer the outdoor education that’s promoted within the Curriculum for Wales; this could include an allotment and a small polytunnel. The community would also be able to use this space as a green haven for the benefit of all.
- The house, Tŷ’r Ysgol, restored for educational use and as a community hub.
- Develop a parking bay in order to help reduce the dangerous parking around the school.
- Solve the drainage problems in this part of the village.
