Return my puppy to me

Return my puppy to me
The Issue
In August of 2011 we responded to an ad on Craigslist placed by a non-profit dog rescue named Ace of Hearts to foster a dog. On September 18 of 2011 my family and I agreed to foster a adorable black and white chihuahua terrier mix.puppy. Mikki, was found in the street with no owner in sight, and her coat was crawling with fleas. This broke our hearts and my mom and I immediately drove to west hollywood to pick her up. Mikki was extremely men and people shy. You can tell that her previous owner must have beat her. Kari Whitman the owner of Ace of Hearts agreed to pay my mom 50 dollars a week to foster her, and also agreed to provide Mikki food, basic necessities, and any vetenary needs that she required. We had to agree to bring Mikki to adoptions every other Saturday at Petco in West hollywood .But we weren't in it for the 50 dollars, we were in it for the pleasure. We enjoyed Mikki's company and she seemed to be getting very comfortable with us. We gave her love and in return she did the same. Every other Saturday we would take her to the adoptions and even became official volunteers. Mikki was a healthy dog and got a bath every Saturday. My mom and Ace of Hearts discussed her adopting Mikki, but couldn't come to terms because the adoption agreement was extremely one sided But on the morning of December 17 I awoke to Mikki whining and a very foul smell. I discovered that she had bloody pooped everywhere. She was crying and had non stop diarrhea. We called Kari, because the foster agreement stated that we contact her before the dog gets medical help. Kari said she would only reimburse us up to 100 dollars, and she didn't even feel that this required medical attention. We finally found a place that would see her on an emergency bases and she was given antibiotics to treat her condition. My mom ended up paying 195.15 out of her pocket. We sent Kari the bill expecting her to reimburse the 100 dollars like she agreed, and it wasn't until my mom threatened to sue her that she payed a month later. On February 15 we legally adopted Mikki with the help of the operation manger, Ash Neblet. My mom filed a lawsuit against Kari Whitman & Ace of Hearts in April 2012, trying to get the foster fee's that they agreed to pay. Then in May of 2012 the Judge Judy show contacted us, asking us to come on their show because they were interested in our case. My mom agreed to come on the show. They also invited Mikki and me to come too since we were part of the case. They scheduled for us to come and tape the show on May 23 2012 and we were told that Kari was not going to be there because it would conflict with her acting career. On May 23 we got ourselves ready and drove to the show on Sunset and Bronson. Once we got there they took us to a room where they had all the Plaintiff's sit and sign paperwork. They had the Defendant's in another room. After all the paperwork was all filled out they took My mom, Mikki, and myself to a private room. A representative from Judge Judy came into the room and took us down to makeup, leaving Mikki in the room by herself. We came back up only a few minutes later to hear him say that Kari was there, but was just going to be backstage and we weren't to say a word. After that a friendly man came in and put microphones on us. Finally after all that we went to the "courtroom" to start filming, but they told us leave Mikki in the room. We were confused as to why we even brought her if she was just going to sit out. As soon as the taping started Judge Judy asked my mom how old I was and when my my responded with 14 she had her bailiff escort me out of the "courtroom". Someone from the show brought me to the room that Mikki was in. About 5 minutes later a man came in my room telling me to put Mikki in her carrier and to come on. In the end my mom and I ended up leaving the show with no dog and broken hearted. And to top it off they were trying to have security rush us off the premises. I was crying hysterically and was confused as to what had happened because Judge Judy was not there to discuss Mikki's fate. On our way home my mom received a call from a restricted number. My mom answered only to find Kari Whitman on the line. She said that everything went wrong and that she wanted us to have Mikki back. We were thrilled! My mom and Kari don't get along so my mom told Kari she would have my older sister give her a call to work out the details of the exchange. They agreed to have my sister come and pick Mikki up the next day. The next day my sister called Kari to tell her she was on her way, but all of a sudden Kari flipped. She said she wouldn't give Mikki back. We were confused because Kari sent my sister several texts stating that she would be more that happy to give Mikki back. On May 23 12:27 pm Kari texted in part," I'm happy for you to have the dog back." And at 1:12pm Kari texted in part," You adopted the dog!" So we took it to the next level. We contacted the police to do a civil stand-by. We drove to Kari's house only to find out that Mikki wasn't there. She was at a different fosters house. We filed a police report at the West Hollywood station and we have a court date set for July 5th at 1:30pm and that's where things stand and we are trying desperately every single day to get Mikki back, but Kari continues to refuse.
