America is seen as the land of the free, but, that isn't always true for the country's furry friends - cats, everyday in New York City, cats, including; stray cats, unwell cats, neglected cats, and even pets, are killed for trivial reasons, such as - them having a cold. 

As someone who has already made great progress for animal rights, by introducing the ban of Horse drawn carts in New York City recently, you are in a powerful position to make the same positivist change for these cats on 'Death Row'. 

What is needed is education. Education about proper care for pets such as cats; to neurter them so that there is not an over population of pets, education that cats are for life, they are a life long commitment, not to abandon when it suits someone. Education such as this, will not only save the lives of thousands of cats every year, but will also make us more compassionate towards cats, and, will save money from; euthanasia, and the running costs of shelter accommodation.

Mayor Bill De Blasio, we ask you to intervene to stop this daily euthanasia of an animal many people love and take to their heart - cats.
