I am Dr. Sreelekha, an aspiring AI Scientist and was a DST-Woman Scientist at the Computer Science & Engg Dept of IIT Bombay, India. I have been undergoing academic harassments from IIT Bombay for the past 9 years, ie, from 2013 onwards, wherever I go. 

So, I initiated a mission to prevent the harassments and to create an awareness in students about how to handle the fear and stress happened due to the harassments. I started a mission in building the courage to speak up and discuss.

This petition is created as part of a mission to prevent the harassments happened in academic research institute. Main focus is to save the students from committing suicide out of fear, depression, stress, tension, and gang harassments. Students are afraid that there is no body to hear them or to support them. In most of the research institutes, especially in IIT's if we are approaching the students cell or to the authorities, they will immediately label us as we have mental problems to save the professors. There will be some name sake counselors who are eager to spoil innocents students life by playing as per the authorities or professors convenience with a greedy mindset for their desires. Then they will take revenge and will spoil our academics, career and life. Further, they will block the authorities and judiciary by projecting that we have mental problems by spreading lies about our academics. That'sy 1000's of students are committing suicides daily out of fear.

So we want an external body which will not get yield to any influences and will firmly support the victims and will give punishment to the criminals.

The important aspect is we not only support the students, but the staffs and faculties as well, who are facing academic harassments....!!

The major objective of this body should be that any students or faculty who are undergoing harassments can approach them confidently without any fear..!
