While we wait it out too, we couldn't wait any longer on this. The government and opposition ganged up before christmas and passed a shambolic aged care act.

That * Allows aged care providers to abuse older people and get away with it - no effective financial penalties and won't even face possibility court no matter how bad the abuse is

• That takes our taxpayer funds, and now user pay means that providers can take our super, and kids inheritance too!

I don't want my son's inheritance , and my hard earned super to pay for care I won't receive! And if my mum in law went into care, I wouldn't want her abused, and the organisation daged oing it doesn't face any consequence.

Older people deserve better.

An election will be called soon. We need as many as possible to sign this petition before then to show we DO care about older people and their human rights. We are NOT Ok with abuse of our mums, dads and friends in aged care.

Aged care was the leading election issue last time. There was even a promise from elected government to "go after dodgy aged care providers and bring them before court". How did that pan out? But the opposition are no better. They don't support criminal charges either, and after originally calling these changes an aged care tax (they are) they backed off to get legislation through.

We need to remind politicians again aged care IS important. And we are NOT Ok with abuse and theft from older people, and all of us, to line provider pockets.
