Thank you so much everyone on an Easter weekend for signing and promoting our petition to SOS (save our super) from greedy care providers. https://www.change.org/handsoffoursuper
The first day is so important for petitions so please keep up your efforts of sharing and reposting it really helps.
Our first aim is to get to 1000 signatures. We can then start getting more media attention on this petition and help more people in public become aware of this (like my mum in law who yesterday told me hadn’t heard about this)
If some you know are in this category or are echoing talking points circulated by media (like 70% of providers lose money which is untrue) I’ve included some useful informative links below you can use when reshare.
Thank you again everyone for your efforts. You really make a difference to get this issue before the public and then hopefully the senate when they debate the aged care act thank you !

This is from Anne Connolly an ABC news investigator and one of the instigators of the royal commission with a four corners article. She outlines how older people already pay via means testing, and that these taskforce recommendations could lead to hundreds of thousands extra fees

Aged care reform now a grassroots group with lived experience aged care (I’m proudly in and am quoted as well) analysed the report in great detail here is our media release https://agedcarereformnow.com.au/taskforce-report-on-aged-care-funding-leaves-more-questions-than-answers/
Providers ARENT losing money and certainly not 70% which was a 2020/2021 figure that the taskforce strangely included even though more recent data like this march 24 data was available showing the opppsote 70% providers profitable.
And accounting tricks widely used make even these figures vastly inaccurate as to true financial position of providers. See some updates on money to china , mansions owners and publicly listed aged care providers in 2022 cited in the senate by Centre for International Corporate Tax Accountability and Research (CICTAR)
