Hi everyone. It's been an absolutely huge start to the year, and our massive campaign to get more Aboriginal history and culture taught in schools just had a really big win.

A few days ago, I stood alongside Labor education spokesperson Tanya Plibersek at Thornbury Primary School, where she made a $14m election promise to employ 60 full-time First Nations language teachers!

That would mean thousands of kids in 60 schools around the country learning Aboriginal language, history and culture, plus newly created jobs for 60 First Nations people.

Tanya made the announcement at Thornbury Primary School, where we got to sit in on Aunty Terry's language class with the kids. It was incredible to see all the kids learning Wirundjeri language and phrases, as well as cultural information about the seasons, and of course, the proud long history of this continent.

I took a moment to think about what it would have been like growing up with classes like that in my school. I know it would have made a huge difference to me, and my friends. I'm really excited by Tanya's announcement, and I would love to think that this is something that all of our leaders would be willing to support.

I honestly can't believe our campaign has come so far. Thanks to you and your support, we've shown politicians just how important this issue is to us. I couldn't have done any of this without you.

We're SO close to hitting 300,000 signatures on this petition. Will you help me get it over the line by sharing it with your family and friends?

Isaiah xx
