The Romeo and Juliet laws and those similar to it state that minors can have consensual s *xual relationships between each other so long as they are close in age, and must be no more than a 3 year age difference. I think this is wrong, and minors shouldn’t be participating in such acts to begin with. A 3 year difference is still a lot. Minors shouldn’t be encouraged to do these acts, and the difference allows for potential pedophiles to engage in relationships with such age gaps, without getting caught, something very dangerous.

On top of this, when minors are still developing, someone potentially 3 years older than them has still had significantly more development, physically, mentally and emotionally. The only time a 3 year age gap is fine, is if it’s with adults aged 18 or over, because they’re developed enough to do almost any type of activists, such as consenting to s *x with a partner. 

I ask the people (such as the lawmakers of these Romeo Juliet laws and other types of them) what is the purpose of allowing minors to engage in s *xual activity? Laws like California, strictly ensure that both parties must be 18. Teenagers are still developing and unnecessary s *x can lead to a variety of mental and physical problems, like unwanted pregnancies, feelings of worthlessness and even crimes. Especially with the gap in years being capable of reaching 3. I sincerely hope this message is understood and reaches people across the country. Thank you.
