Abolish the National Realtor Association for Unfair Representation

The Issue

I, alongside my coworkers, am a Real Estate Agent based in Florida, USA. Despite paying high fees, we feel more and more unrepresented by the National Realtor Association (NRA). This is a reality shared by many Realtors in our state and it's high time we address this issue head-on.

The NRA is responsible for establishing standards for how we deliver our services. But the current model seems outdated and more in favor of the organization than us - the real estate practitioners. Every dollar we pay as membership fees should be going back into protecting our industry.  However big corporations like zillow are clouding our careers.  Now that the new settlement has taking place we don't feel that our fees are only a high cost for what we get.  Example anyone can have access to the MLS system and the search engines provide the same information we do.

What many people aren't aware of is just how much we're required to pay. According to the Florida Realtors website, the annual membership fee  and board fees for realtors in Florida  not including local board dues or MLS fees which can total up to $1000+ yearly. In spite of these high costs, there is a growing sentiment amongst Realtors in Florida that the organization does not represent their best interests or provide adequate services.

We want an organization that truly stands for our rights, interests, and profession. We need your support in demanding this change.

Please sign this petition to help us dissolve the National Realtor Association and create a more fair, representative, and affordable body that supports all realtors.

In June 2024, a survey of real estate agents found that 71% believed the National Association of Realtors' (NAR) $418 million settlement would negatively impact the real estate industry. 95% of agents surveyed thought that the commission changes would cause some agents to leave the industry, and 58% believed the settlement would negatively impact their day-to-day business. Their main concern was negotiating fees with clients. (google engine)
