Hi everyone,
I just watched a video in which a royal author discusses alleged troubling information connected to the Epstein files and makes claims about chilling new revelations still to come. It made me think about the role of the British monarchy today and whether it still serves the public interest in a transparent, accountable way.
The U.K.’s constitutional arrangements give the monarchy a unique symbolic and political place, but when serious questions arise about accountability, influence, and transparency, it’s worth having an open conversation about whether this system is still appropriate in the 21st century.
I’m not calling for anything violent or unlawful — I’m calling for an informed, respectful public discussion about:
Transparency and accountability in national institutions
Ethical standards for public figures and those connected to power
Whether a hereditary monarchy aligns with democratic values
If people are concerned about the institution itself — not just individuals — we should be able to debate reform, including alternatives like a republic or other constitutional arrangements, based on facts and values we share as citizens.
Let’s talk about this calmly and constructively, with respect for each other and for democratic principles.
