Abolish the Medical Council

Abolish the Medical Council
The Issue
The Medical Council regulates the medical profession.
It appears to have used its powers under the Medical Practitioners Act (1978 and amended 2007) to silence 21,000 doctors by threatening them with delisting and loss of livelihood if any should speak out against government management of covid, vaccination policy, NPHET or anything that in their view undermines confidence in public health policy.
This may well include the proposed WHO pandemic treaty. All twenty three members of the Medical Council have their nominations approved of by the Minister of Health and they can be removed by the Minister of Health without explanation.
I therefor consider them to be a political body representing the interest of their political patron, the Minister of Health.
I do not believe that they have represented the best interest of the public as they are obliged to do under the Medical Practitioners Act.
To take a political stance that is in conflict with what is in the best interest of the public is in my opinion corruption.
Medical debate based around articles in peer reviewed journals is the bedrock of good science. Peer reviewed journals have offered a range of views and treatments around covid.
None of this academic debate has entered the Irish medical community as the Medical Council has prevented free debate by threatening doctors who speak out with sanctions that could include loss of livelihood.
I believe that Medical Council policy has cost lives as lack of debate has meant lack of availability of other medicines to treat covid that are part of the health care of other jurisdictions and have been administered with good effect.
I am calling for the Medical Council to be abolished immediately and for a Public Inquiry to examine why it appeared to promote a a political response rather than a medical one.
If that policy has caused lives to be lost by denying people with covid access to health products freely available in other jurisdictions by threatening doctors who would prescribe such products with sanctions.
To examine any vested interest that members of the Medical Council might have that may have influenced its decision making that forced doctors to deny valid treatments under pain of sanction.
Sign this petition now to abolish the Medical Council and to have it and it’s board members investigated and their actions made answerable to the people.
