The Issue

Learning and speaking English is a challenge. It is filled with irregularities and exceptions. As someone who has spoken the language for their entire life, I've noticed that one letter, in particular, makes things unnecessarily complicated: the letter Q.

The letter Q in the English language typically appears with a U, creating sounds that can often be represented by C, K, or KW. For those learning English, this seems tedious and confusing. Why do we have "quilt" when "kwilt" would suffice perfectly? Why confuse learners with "queue" when "cue" works just as well? It’s an unnecessary burden to carry.

Around 1.5 billion people worldwide speaks English. Removing the letter Q makes writing in the language much easier for learners. Imagine a world where we no longer need to worry about such a letter.

I urge linguistic experts to consider the benefits of this proposal. Let's make a change that favors simplicity, inclusivity, and clarity. Let's make English an easier language for everyone worldwide.

For fuck's sake, we don't even use the letter Q as often as the others. And why does Q get to be paired up with U?
