Abolish the learning zones rule

Abolish the learning zones rule
The Issue
The learning zones rule enforces students to remain silent in between commutes to lessons and through the building where only the canteen and stage hall remain a speaking zone at only free times.
the 'learning zones' rule. At DSLV, students like myself find ourselves constrained by regulations that deny us the freedom to express ourselves fully.
This rule was recently introduced by a member of SLT, explaining that this rule would prevent feeling unsafe in the halls of school. The rule encourages students to go outside to talk, doing more harm than good. If students are told to go outside to talk, they will just skip classes and be late because they can’t freely talk on the way to their next lesson.
the vast majority, if not all students (and teachers) disagree with this rule, but have no way to express it.
i myself have gone around school after the announcement was made that this rule would be implemented, and asked if they agree or not. About 9 times out of 10, the student will say they don’t agree.
DSLV promotes their school as a safe environment. That should also include being able to freely express yourself.
Not only is it a basic human right to express yourself through speech, this rule violates the “Freedom of speech” act of 2023. This is a school, not a ‘boot camp’ (as described by the man who made this rule), and we should feel safe to talk.
