Press Release: 06/23/2017
New York City: We, as independent ordinary citizens, have filed a lawsuit with the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York to abolish the slavery-era Electoral College, and to compel the Congress to fulfill its constitutional duty to enact laws ensuring Equal Protection of voting rights guaranteed by the 14th Amendment. During the preliminary conference held on March 17th 2017 the Honorable Judge William H. Pauley III ordered the two parties to submit motion papers and responses, respectively, before May 19th, and the oral argument to be held on June 30.
The court clerk has now informed that the Court has reviewed the legal briefs submitted by both parties, and would “take Defendants’ motion to dismiss on submission. The oral argument scheduled for June 30, 2017 is adjourned.” This means the District Court will soon make a ruling on whether to dismiss the lawsuit requested by the Defendants.
Fellow Americans, please help spread the word, and join us to fight for our country’s founding ideal, core democratic principle, basic fairness and social justice:
Abolish the Electoral College!
Equal Vote for all Americans regardless of state of residency!
