[New York City - 05/31/2017] The Lawsuit to Abolish the Electoral College Will Be Heard on Friday 06/30/2017 New York City: We, as independent ordinary citizens, have filed a lawsuit with the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York to abolish the slavery-era Electoral College, and to compel the Congress to fulfill its constitutional duty to enact laws ensuring Equal Protection of voting rights guaranteed by the 14th Amendment. On March 17, we prevailed at the preliminary conference held at the U.S. District Court, @500 Pearl Street, Manhattan. Despite the request by the DOJ-appointed attorney to dismiss our case, the Honorable Judge William H. Pauley III. ordered the Oral Argument to be held on Friday June 30, at 12pm. From mayors to governors, representatives to senators, all these offices are elected in accordance with the democratic principle of “one person one vote, every vote is equal”. The office of president represents and is accountable to all Americans, hence its legitimacy must directly come from all voters counted with equal value. However, America is the only developed democracy that has continued to use an election system originated from the 18th -century slavery era, and has oppressed the will of a clear majority of the voters in two of five recent elections since 2000. Under the Electoral College, 98% of the Americans in the top 43 states ranked by population are counted less than 60% of a person in Wyoming, which is even worse than how a slave was counted as 60% in 1787, 230 years ago! Fellow Americans, it is time to Abolish the Electoral College Achieve “Equal Vote for all Americans” regardless of state of residency!
