This is a CVOB (Community &Voluntary organisations) campaign to stop workers from being charged for their DBS check.

This practice creates an extra tax on people for choosing to work in social care a sector which already has acute staff shortages

The average hourly rate of a support worker is £10.50 and an enhanced DBS costs £38 this means that a new employee loses just under 4 hours of work they have done paying for their DBS (this does not include any admin cost that an employer can add on top of this)

We want to see an end to this practice and that's why we have started this campaign
