A misconception of the Bradley amendment is that its termination would mean the inability to collect child support. This is not true in any way. Child support receival found no benefit in the amendment. In fact it contradicted its intention. With the termination of car licenses, confiscations of cars and homes, jail time, and heavy fines these punishments impaired a fathers ability to pay child support after falling behind. Most of the punishments lead to unemployment, termination of visitations due to homelessness, felony charges that decreased their ability to find higher paying jobs, and terminated the fathers relationship with its child, which is essential. Many women never see child support again after men are crushed under the amendment.
