Like so many of my generation, I know firsthand the crushing burden of student loan debt. Our debt increases each passing year due to the unfair 7.9% interest rate. This isn't just hindrance - it's an injustice. 

While we accept that paying back our university fees is a crucial part of our education journey, the current interest rates are exploitative and grossly disproportionate. I have friends who have been paying back their student loan since 2020, and yet their total amount to pay back has gone UP an additional £3,000. 

This treacherous cycle makes it impossible for many of us to ever escape this student loan debt treadmill. Our future is being held ransom for seeking an education. It's time the government acknowledged our plight and reduced the staggering interest rates, ushering in a new era of fairer lending for students.
