As an avid fan of National Rugby League (NRL) games, I'm deeply distressed by the overuse of sin bins for head high tackles, which is adversely affecting the quality of the game we love. My perspective is shared by many others, who feel that the thrill and artistry of our favorite sport is being diminished in favour of punitive measures.

Although player safety must always be a priority, the ceaseless relegation of players to the sin bin for these offenses has disrupted the flow of the games in a way that proves disenchanting for viewers. Ratings for prime-time games have evidently declined over the past seasons (Nielsen Sports, 2021), and it's not far-fetched to connect the dots between fan disillusionment and the disproportionately severe penalties for head high tackles.

We insist that the NRL revisit its rules and reconsider the rigorous application of sin bins for head high tackles, in order to restore the energy, excitement, and competitive spirit to the heart of our sport. Please sign this petition to voice your support for this cause.
