Abolish Road Tolls for Students

The issue

I am speaking from personal experience as a student. I have had to grapple with the difficult task of commuting to my institution and bearing the extra financial burden of road tolls. It becomes immensely challenging, especially on a tight, student budget.

Adding to the cost of educations such as tuition, books, and housing, the road tolls are an additional strain on students who are just trying to build their future. It is not just me; this situation is faced by countless students across the world who depend on road travel for their college commute.

The National Center for Education Statistics states that more than 76% of all undergraduate students commute to campus (NCES, 2017). If all these students have to pay road tolls daily, the collective annual cost is enormous, furthering the finance-related stress of collegiates.

Given these facts, it is clear that the impact of road tolls on students is significant and unnecessary, making education less accessible and more stressful. Hence, we demand an end to road tolls for all students. This can significantly decrease the financial burden on students and potentially increase the accessibility of education for many.

Support us in our plea to remove this burden. We call upon the concerned authorities to review and reconsider toll policies to be accommodating and considerate about student needs. Please sign our petition to help remove road tolls for students. Let's help make education more accessible and less stressful.
