Abolish Cafcass for a Better Family Court Experience

The Issue

My story isn't unique. From personal experience in two family court proceedings, Cafcass significantly worsened the situation by spurring deep-seated issues that could have otherwise been avoided. The distress they cause isn't isolated to my case alone. Cafcass, originally intended to promote the welfare of children involved in family proceedings, have repeatedly demonstrated incompetence and a disquieting pattern of inaccuracies. In 2019, the service faced a record number of complaints - nearly 2,000 in total, a significant increase from the previous year (Ofsted 2019).

There have been children die at the hands of Cafcass lies and negligence.

It's clear Cafcass lacks the structure and competence needed to carry out their responsibilities effectively, which only worsens the already stressful proceedings for families like mine. It's time to rethink how we support children and families involved in family court. Abolishing Cafcass can pave the way for an improved, more efficient and empathetic system— built on equality, understanding, and truth. Join me in demanding this critical change. Sign this petition.
