"Why Even Make This Petition Public If It Doesn't Pertain To Me?"

Great question! Thanks for asking!
We've had numerous people ask why, if this is a publicly and privately traded company, does it matter to them? Why sign and why even make it public outside of our organization. To this... I say:
Firstly, PTO is something we are grateful for as a privilege - not a right. However, not everyone is able to use that time off they work for so they throw that money away. Our current policy doesn't help those with disabilities. That's wrong and harmful to a company who prides itself on community, respect, and inclusivity.
Secondly, by making this petition public, it brings to light issues within companies for other people to see so that they too can examine their own company policies to see if they can be a change maker as well. We want workplace reform. Change is inevitable and we want to start it here. By making others privy to what's going on in our community, they too can look in their own and see about stepping up and being a leader as well.
This isn't about spiting our company, it's about working around policies and changing them to create a better future for us all.
Thank you for your support! With you, we can change history. Once we reach 50 signatures, we will be taking this to the Review Boards and HR in hopes of a resolution!
