The title says it all. My life was taken without any consideration from Facebook and Abercombie & Fitch.

Here’s what happened:

On august 21st  2021 my Facebook business page mysteriously disappeared off Facebook. Every signs of it, deleted! I was not given a single notice to correct any actions if any wrong doing.

Keep in mind, my Facebook business page is my ONLY source of income. I have started my small business on May 12th 2015. However, due to financial restrictions I could not afford opening a physical store, so I created my business page on facebook and there I let life happen for me, trusting in the process.

My business is an apparel store, with placed orders I deliver to customers at a location convenient to them, even at their home! I have started my business with 10 pieces of clothing and grew to over 400 pieces in 6 and a half years.  It wasn’t an easy tasks, I struggle for 2 years to get up. I have made loss, I breakeven, and even when my profit came out to $5000GYD ($25USD) at the end of the month, I smiled. Because I did it! Why? Because I love ever bit of my business. It is my life. I walked in sun and rain for hours, to reach out to my customers... but I was happy :)  Now that it’s Gone, taken from me by these selfish companies, I am stressed and depressed and tired of being alive.

On August 21st 2021 after my page was disabled, I was lost as I couldn’t find anything on it on Facebook. I checked my email address and noticed all my running ads was disabled ‘due to policy violations’.

I checked my facebook support inbox and it shows “Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 7:59 PM

When I check for more details on it. It shows I received 47 violations of trademark infringements! 47!

I checked each of those 47 violations and 46 belongs to pages that’s not affiliated with me.

I have tried endlessly to contact Facebook (have you ever tried getting support from Facebook? Exactly. Such a big company with minimal interest in assisting the ones that make it so great). I have called endless numbers listed on google, nothing. I eventually got through to live chat where I chatted with Rep name Reijie. He assisted me in opening a case for the matter to be investigated. I was told I should be given an update within 48 hours, sometime it takes longer depending on the complexity of the case. Mind you, I waited THREE MONTHS for an update only to be told my page was disabled due to trademark infringement. I was provided with the reporter name: Phoebe and Report number along with Reporter email bp_tips@anfcorp.com (Abercrombie and fitch brand protection team.)

For the next 2 months I spent emailing bp_tips endlessly! I was not given a single response. I finally decided to check linkedIn to see if I could locate the reporter. Found her! I messaged there. I thought maybe she’s not using linkedIn so out of desperation, I looked her up on Instagram and found her. I messaged her there. On the following morning she saw the message, liked one of my picture (the one with my business page stating 6th anniversary) and she blocked me. I begged for her help and she didn’t give an ounce of care.

Now as mentioned, I have been messaging bp_tips@anfcorp.com for months! And I wasn’t given a single response. 2 hours after Phoebe blocked me I was given my first response.

THEIR RESPONSE ON JANUARY 13TH 2021

Thank you for reaching out to the Brand Protection team relating to the referenced Facebook report: 1298315413935529

We have reviewed the details of the report, and can confirm the subject ads were submitted for a variety of intellectual property infringements, including unauthorized use of copyrights (product images) and also offers of counterfeit products and violation of our trademark rights. The facts of the report were verified and reviewed by Facebook and, per their policies, they appropriately deactivated your ads account. Again, your account was deactivated based on a breach of their policies.

Unfortunately, the only scenario in which we can withdraw a claim is in the event of a submission made in error, which is not the case here. To withdraw a claim may impair our ability to protect our rights on the Facebook platforms in the future. Therefore, we must be forthright and up-front that we will not withdraw the report.

We recognize this likely is not the response you had hoped to receive, however, we do anticipate that it provides clarity and closure. Besides, it appears you have managed to get your business back up and running.

One final note--any further inquiries on this matter, should you deem it necessary, should be directed to this email address only and to the attention of the Brand Protection team. No benefit will come with continued inappropriate, harassing, attempts to reach out to individuals, especially via personal accounts and/or via their social media contacts. We trust and appreciate your understanding.

I did not harass phoebe, I have all screenshots to all messages. I would share however It will make the petition and long read however it could be provided.

ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH REFUSED TO ASSIST ME. I BREAK DOWN IN TEARS, TYPED EVERY SINGLE MESSAGE ON MY CURRENT STATE OF DEPRESSION AND SUICIDAL THOUGHTS, THIS COMPANY SIMPLY REJECTED EVERYTHING WITH NO REMORSE IN HELPING ME.

THEY LEFT ME WITHOUT A SOURCE OF INCOME STRUGGLING TO MAKE ENDS MEET DAILY. AT THE CURRENT STATE, I WANT LIFE ON THE WHOLE TO JUST END.

 

Within the 2 months I have been trying to contact bp_tips@anfcorp.com where no response was given to me. I decided to google the email address to see what pops up. And it shows its related to Abercrombie and Fitch. With the assistance of a Friend in New York, she called Abercrombie and fitch and provide the details, they said they will look into it and they did however their response is, the person phoebe isn’t affiliated with the company and neither is the email address. This has led me to think it’s a fake email in disguise to be Abercombie and Fitch. And I thought so until bp_tips@anfcorp.com finally responded.

Due to that thought, I went to facebook live chat and discuss the encounter, chatted with a rep named Enya, she opened a case. Once again I was told within 48 hours I should be given an update, it’s almost 2 months and no update!

Back to Abercombie and Fitch. Now I apologize to them for messaging phoebe personally, they told me my apology was accepted.

After few exchange of emails where I continuously pleaded with them for assistance where I am denied every single time, I told then I started a petition against them, this petition. That made them aggressive, their response:

… Finally, your efforts to reach out to individuals [formerly] associated with Abercrombie & Fitch through personal means were misguided and unwelcome, but this has now escalated to threats left to narrow interpretation. We will be referring your correspondence to Facebook, as well as to relevant authorities

It’s approaching 6 months now since I have been fighting this battle. Both facebook and abercombie and fitch have refused to actually assist me on this matter. I am left to punish and die and at this point, I absolutely welcome death. I am just pleading for my life back. I am being blamed wrongfully. 47 violations of trademark infringements and 46 belongs to pages that’s not mine. How can that be pinned on me?

I am sorry I sold Hollister products. I was not aware the products cannot be resold. Here in my country, Guyana, products are bought and sold freely on the market once it is not illegal. There’s no copyright laws. It’s a simple stupid mistake and I am willing to rectify this on the spot, just please for another chance. I should have been notified by Facebook on this before taking 6 and a half years of my life away! It is unfair. Facebook is unfair and inconsiderate. Abercombie is unfair and inconsiderate.

Please everyone, I am down on my knees begging for your support.  Let my voice be heard. Please.
