Be sure to highlight the importance of an equity officer and the need for someone to tend to diversity and equity issues amongst various schools and grade levels. Remember, an equity officer would promote representation reflecting our diverse community, tend to fair and equitable distribution of resources, focus on diversifying education and curriculum, amongst many other inclusive efforts. Not only would this help create a more comfortable and open learning space for students of color, but it would also integrate early understanding and empathy for others amongst non-students of color.
