For the last four years, we have enjoyed Rebecca Mader's portrayal of Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West (and half-sister of "Evil Queen" Regina Mills) on Once Upon a Time. Ms. Mader's three-dimensional portrayal of a villain who sought to redeem herself for the sake of her child without losing the sarcastic bite that made Zelena a unique being was one of the highlights of the show.

We understand that Ms. Mader and her character will not be brought back to the show in season 7.  The fact that the character was allowed to survive the season 6 finale lends itself to a solution that we believe fans, the producers, and the network would find pleasing in its final outcome.

That solution would be to bring back Ms. Mader in a Zelena spin-off of Once, preferably set in modern times, allowing her to have magic, and interact with both other Once characters and new characters set in the modern world.  We think that a Zelena series would have the right balance of drama, humor, adventure, and fantasy that would generate a large audience we also believe would be loyal to such a series for a long time.

We hope that you consider our request, for we admire Ms. Mader as an actress and love the character of Zelena.
