What factors make a human life greater than animal life? There are none, because animals, especially our pets have done nothing but proven their loyalty to us and our families. They stay by our sides when we're sick, sad, and lonely. What have we done in return? Well, as of right now many people are leaving their. dogs at shelters, dumping them in the streets, and even asking vets to put them down. What makes this ok? There is no justification for this besides ignorance. People are giving away lifelong companions because they think their animals will give them COVID-19. When you get an animal, it's your known duty to take care of it, the animal is dependent on you. If you abandoned a child, they will be traumatized. They will have trust issues and many other problems. Do you believe animals are immune to these issues? Of course not, just as you would traumatize a child you can do the same with an animal. 

Animal shelters in my area are now overloaded because people believe that they're same from the virus if they get rid of innocent companions. Animals at these shelters are being killed because there's not enough room, and they're running out of food. My mother and I rescue animals, and it's become hard for us to hear about these animals being dumped. Fosters for animals are now being crowded and there's really no other place to keep these animals safe. These pets need to feel loved again, and to trust again. Please help the shelters with maintaining these animals and please help stop the abandonment of these pets.
