On 9/15/15, the View co-hosts (Whoopi, Joy Behar, Candace Cameron Bure, Michelle Collins and Paula Faris) had fun putting down and laughing at Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson for using the talent portion of the Miss America pagent to deliver a monologue about nursing in scrubs and a stethoscope around her neck. The View asked " Why does she have a doctor's stethoscope on?" and stated "Nursing is not a talent". Nursing is a talent which takes education, critical thinking skills and blends art and science.They owe every nurse an apology.

Even through nursing has been the most trusted profession for years, people tend to listen to what the media says. In this case - they devalued nurses and trivialized the profession. I personally have been a nurse for 27 years in a variety of areas. I am proud, passionate and deicated to my profession and am appalled at how flippant they were. They obviously know nothing about what nurses look like or what they do.

They stated nursing is not a talent. Neither is drinking coffee with friends, which they get a hefty paycheck to do every day. This is not the first time the View has alianated people with their comments. It is time to pull this show OFF the air and let them drink coffee and be catty in private.
