Hello friends and supporters,
Thank you so much for signing the petition. We’ve gotten over 500 signatures on the first day, what an accomplishment!
We believe Councilmember Tammy Kim is the most likely to bring us a majority vote to pass a ceasefire resolution in Irvine. There will be a city council meeting on Tuesday, January 23rd at 1 Civic Center Plaza, Irvine. The meeting starts at 4:00pm, but you can sign up to make a public comment at around 3:30pm. If you have the time, it would be very impactful for the councilmembers to hear from you, especially if you have not attended before. We hope to see you there.
As a reminder, this petition isn’t only for AAPI Irvine residents. Our letter is addressing why, from our specific backgrounds, we must support a ceasefire to end the violence in Palestine. Even if you do not currently live in Irvine, you may sign the petition if you live in a neighboring city in Orange County, have lived in Irvine before, have received education in Irvine, have family in Irvine, or are employed by a company based in Irvine.
Regardless of your connection to Irvine, sharing the petition with your family, friends, and coworkers is greatly appreciated. Let’s keep the momentum going until our voices are heard. We know that through our collective efforts we can achieve our goals.
We are deeply grateful for this community, thank you again.
