Still unlucky we're with AAMI

Well that was a complete waste of time. It seems that AAMI are only concerned about us while we have a social media presence. Their "negotiations" were just more of the same ridiculous delays and running around in circles with people in call centres who have no idea what is going on. They say that there is no evidence that the flood caused the damage, it might have been caused by a leaky water main or shower. Well, I was under the impression that it was their job to investigate this, not just decline the claim because it might have happened. I have reports from a plumber, a mould specialist and a building inspector stating that the flooding caused the damage, but apparently these don't count. I have also obtained a report from Hunter Water which states that there have been no leaky water mains in my area in the last twelve months. And just to add insult to injury, the building inspector that I hired found that the area under the house is still wet. The report AAMI relied on stated that there was no water under the house and has never been water under the house. I now have to pay a plumber to install blowers to dry out the sub-floor as the moisture has been causing more damage to the house this whole time. I am advised that this is something AAMI should have done as soon as the claim was made. Why is it OK for insurers to screw people over like this? Why is it just assumed that this will happen? Why are they allowed to get away with this? I pay a lot of money to them to protect myself against this very thing, not to use that money to fight giving me what I pay for. I have had to send my son away to live with his father and my daughter and I have been really sick. I now have to apply to the Department of Housing for Temporary Housing as we cannot live here any more. If I cannot get this then it will be a tent in the back yard. Please share this petition with as many people as you can. Apparently it is the only thing they pay attention to. This just is not right
