It has come to our attention that other entities that have not finished medical school, such as NPs, PAs, and even some nurses, have been using the titles of “resident” and “fellow” to describe themselves in a medical setting. 

We deem this as a misappropriation of this terminology that should strictly be used for those that have completed medical school and have an MD or DO degree. This will protect these titles, those working in the hospital setting, and the public from confusion. 

Please consider instituting legal protection for these titles. Here enclosed are signatures in support of this movement. We hope to see actions that are in favor of educational integrity.
