A wellbriety community in Roane County

A wellbriety community in Roane County
The Issue
My journey is one of resilience, reflecting the struggle and ultimate triumph over addiction, codependency, and abandonment. For years, I was lost in an identity that didn't truly belong to me. Today, at 49, I am finally beginning to see the world, and myself, more clearly. I'm learning the vital lessons of self-love, acceptance, and the joy of embracing what life offers. Particularly crucial in this journey is the idea of letting go and letting God guide me through the uncharted waters of personal growth.
This personal awakening has fueled my passion to create a community within Roane County, Tennessee, where everyone who has had similar life experiences can come together to support each other in healing and recovery. We need a Wellbriety community—a place where feeling heard, seen, and valued is a fundamental right. Many individuals within our community are in recovery from addiction or dealing with scars of their past.
A Wellbriety community offers a safe haven for those in recovery—a place for mutual learning and healing. It's about building a support network facilitated by educated individuals who understand the weight of suffering, loss, and shame, and the profound journey of overcoming them. This community will host regular meetings where people can share their stories, be embraced by empathy, learn of new paths to healing, and find kindred spirits who can relate to their struggles on a personal level.
Let’s make Roane County a beacon of hope for those who feel marginalized and misunderstood. By establishing this Wellbriety community, we can nurture a compassionate environment free from judgment—where recovery is celebrated and personal growth is supported.
I urge policy makers, local leaders, and the people of Roane County to support this initiative. Together, we can build a community that not only acknowledges the struggles of addiction recovery but also inspires personal growth for countless individuals. Please sign this petition to make Wellbriety a reality in Roane County.
