We, the undersigned, envision a future in which Wangari Park:

• serves the needs and wants of a broad and diverse cross-section of Park View and its immediately adjacent neighborhoods;
• is managed by one or more organizations, in partnership with the city government, that are led by community residents; uphold professional, democratic, and inclusive values and processes; and are accountable to the community;
• is designed to serve as a significant source of community resilience in times of stability and upheaval;
• and acts as an incubator for new methods of mutual aid and democratic action.

We support the relaunch of a community-led master planning process and the creation of the organizations and partnerships necessary to successfully develop and maintain this vision for decades to come.

We request the support of our city leaders in making this process possible by clearing hurdles to the creation of the aforementioned partnerships and providing the necessary permissions to create the park.
