Twickenham Riverside Park Team

Sep 26, 2017
Since our last update we’ve not only gained the 300 extra supporters we were hoping for, we’ve gained more than 500. So, thank you all very much for your support. We’re incredibly pleased that our simple concept makes sense to you all, as is clear from your wonderful comments.
Obviously, we’re now keen to reach the 1,000 supporters mark, and we’re confident we can do so if you can continue to share our petition details.
If you’d like to keep up to date with our campaign we’re on twitter @TwRiversidePark and have recently set up on facebook as twickriv. We’d really appreciate your support on both of these, especially facebook as we’ve only got a few friends so far!
Letter to Councillors
Since the last update we’ve written to all councillors in the LBRuT explaining our campaign and asking them all to listen to our very clear message about relocating parking away from the riverside to create a riverside park and town square.
Pedestrianisation of the Riverside Park and Town Square
There’s been a little scaremongering in social media about pedestrian access to the town square in our concept plan. This was totally misinformed. We’d like to confirm that all the areas on our plan shaded in green will be fully pedestrianised. The only vehicles allowed to enter these areas will be for special events such as farmers markets, fairs, concerts etc.
Playground
There's a playground area in the riverside park, but unfortunately it doesn’t show up very well on our simplified concept plan or on our watercolour above. We'll revise this shortly to make clear our intention to increase the size and quality of the existing playground area because we want this to be one of the key attractions for families.
Thanks and Keep Sharing.
