Iconic entertainment host, broadcaster and author Sam Rubin passed away May 10th aged 64 in Los Angeles.

Sam’s sudden and untimely death as impacted not only the Hollywood and Los Angeles community deeply but audiences around the world, but non-more so than his wife and children who Sam adored and our thoughts and love are with them.

Sam dedicated his life to the entertainment world for over thirty years, he simply loved Hollywood he loved movies and music and everything in between, his talent and intelligence in the moment of live broadcasting set a new higher standard.  Sam's real passion and gift was making his colleagues, the public and his family feel good and feel special each time he was with them, he was a good man. He made our mornings and days richer by sharing his good character and charm with us.

Through Sam’s lens we saw the world just that little bit brighter. He loved his job and was never more happy than hosting at KTLA or when working with numerous broadcasters around the world where Sam brought us all that SoCal sunshine right into our homes.

I know he did mine from my first day in LA and everyday since.

Ever the professional Sam brought integrity to his craft whilst pushing the boundaries of live television with curiosity and contributed greatly over his career in promoting the industry and communities he cared deeply about.

A dedicated servant of his craft paving the way, by example, his legacy will be felt and mirrored for generations, Sam changed television.

Sam deserves his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to be given posthumously by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, nominations close Friday, May 31, 2024, at 12 noon, please show your support and thanks to an outstanding human being https://hollywoodchamber.net

Warmest,

Neil
