Adelle gave her resignation today, September 22. She didn't bother to post a note to the community on the library Facebook page, because she knew that it would just be removed. After all these years of service, she just quietly left.

It may take some days for the community to notice her absence, but her presence will be missed for a very long time. It will be hard for someone else to fill her shoes and learn all the countless little things that she handled. So many details will no longer run smoothly. As Joni Mitchell sang, "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone?" It feels strange to write this in past tense, but Adelle was well loved by many a patron.
