Recently my account was permanently banned from Facebook. I was supposedly banned for 4 year old post that threatened self harm. My first concern is that this was an extremely untimely response being 4 years old. The threat of self harm had hopefully passed if there ever was any in the first place. Second. banning someone who is in crisis from their potential support ie friends, family and community is probably the worst possible response to the threat of self harm. Not to mention the supposed offending content was 4 years old and when I went to review the supposed offending post the review was completely blank. Lastly, this account was near 20 years old. I have now lost access to pictures, videos, memories and connections built over 2 decades. This has effected me emotionally, socially and professionally. Being unable to reach friends and community contacts. Being unable to promote social and charity events to which I have been a part of or will be in the future. Please help me petition facebook to remove the ban on my account and review this dangerous and ridiculous policy.
