Sub: Public demand for a new Bridge at Sadhurghat Dhanirampur
Respected Authority,
We, the undersigned residents of Dhanirampur GP I, Dhanirampur GP II along with Sakoajhora GP II & Sakoajhora GP II, submit this mass petition to bring to your immediate attention the severe lack of accessible and adequate transport facility in our region. On behalf of the permanent residents of Dhanirampur GP I, Dhanirampur GP II, Sakoajhora GP I, Sakoajhora GP II, Mallikshobha, Mallikpara, Deomali, a population exceeding two lakh and situated at a crucial junction connecting the two districts Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri, we humbly submit this appeal for the construction of the Sadhurghat Bridge. This bridge serves as a vital link between the two districts Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri. Our local economy is 90 percent agriculture dependent, despite excellent agricultural yields, local farmers face immense difficulty transporting their produce to nearby markets like Dhupguri and Maynaguri due to the lack of adequate connectivity. Beyond agriculture, the students need to commute to colleges or coaching centres, more than 20 thousand students are suffering from this poor transport facility even we are unable to quickly transport patients to advanced hospitals during medical emergencies, all primarily due to the absence of this bridge.
Furthermore, we frequently need to travel to more developed neighbouring areas for essential tasks, yet the underdeveloped transport infrastructure poses a major obstacle. The lack of the Sadhurghat Bridge, a crucial link between Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri subjects us to constant hardship, we are forced to rely on makeshift bamboo footbridges during summer and boats during the monsoon season. These crossing options accommodate only two-wheelers, no convenience of heavy vehicle or four-wheelers. Despite Highway 31 being only two kilometres away from the bridge area, one has to take a 50-kilometres detour, causing immense hardship for both farmers and daily commuters.
The construction of the Sadhurghat Bridge will bring about unprecedented, social, educational, health, business, agricultural all-round development in our area. The bridge will directly connect National Highways 17 and 26 at Jateswar to National Highway 31, Dhupguri, fostering remarkable growth across agriculture, business, trade, and education.
It's our benign request to the mentioned authority to allocate funds and land for the immediate construction of Sadhurghat Bridge. We seek your prompt intervention regarding this affecting public interest and public health, as well as for the improvement of the quality of life in our area. We extend our heartfelt thanks for your tireless efforts, sense of duty towards the people, thoughtfulness, and dedication to public welfare.
Sincerely,
Dhanirampur Nagrik Mancha
