Jeffrey Hutchinson, also known as Ranger, was killed in cold blood by the State of Florida on May 1st, 2025.
Ranger was more than just a fellow inmate on Death Row — he was Brett Bogle’s close friend and brother in a fight neither of them should ever have faced. For decades, they stood side by side, both wrongfully convicted, both holding on to truth in a place built on silence and injustice.
Ranger was the kind of man who always tried to lift others up. Even in the darkest of circumstances, he gave what little strength he had to those around him. Brett shared how much it meant to have someone like Ranger beside him — someone who truly understood, and who never stopped caring.
“It never gets easier,” Brett says. “You never get used to watching the state coldly execute the people around you. Ranger was my dear friend. I am scared. Who’s next? Many of the guys here are scared. Ranger was loved by everyone on his floor. I am devastated. My condolences go to his family.”
And now, the pain of that truth is heavier than ever.
But Ranger will not be forgotten. Together, we will make sure his name lives on. His life, his kindness, his strength — they mattered. And they still do.
Justice may have failed him.
We won’t.
Ranger out.🕊️
